MAINE LIKED ME IN 2010! These are endorsements I got last time. I'm sure I will get these and more this time too!!
 |
"After careful deliberation we are pleased to inform you that we believe that you are the best candidate in your legislative race to represent Maine's working families and retirees, and have earned our endorsement."
Maine State Employees Association - Service Employees International Union Local 1989 |
Here is the card MSEA prepared and mailed to all of its members in my district.

The League of Young Voters endorsed Seth Berner. |
 |
The Portland Phoenix newspaper endorsed Seth Berner. |
The MSEA is a mainstream organization, given to caution with its members' interests. The League is a grassroots movement interested in passion and commitment. The Portland Phoenix is the leading news and arts weekly in Southern Maine. I'm preferred by the younger and the older, the careful and the reckless, and the media. Maine organizations find that I make sense, and I'm ready to fight for what I believe in.

"Among those running for the House of Representatives in District 115 is a long time friend of mine, Seth Berner, who is trustful, outspoken, and someone you should give real thought to when you visit the polls." |
| | Gerald Talbot Former Maine Democratic Legislator Former President, NAACP Portland Current resident of District 115 |
"I am voting for Seth for a lot of reasons- his volunteering, vision, and commitment to all sorts of local efforts to name a few. The best thing about Seth is his ability to listen, hear different viewpoints respectfully, and he always acts from an informed and compassionate position. " |
| | Danny Muller Former Director, Peace Action Maine Current resident of District 115 |
"As a founding member of Veterans for Peace and as an officer in our Maine Chapter, I was pleased when we welcomed Seth Berner into our ranks as an honorary member (Seth is one of five to have achieved this distinction over our twenty-five year history). We were encouraged to “enlist” Seth because of his unflagging commitment to social justice and nonviolence. Seth has provided pro bono services to our organization on behalf of veterans and active duty personnel as VFP has struggled with the legal ramifications of our work to ensure that these veterans and their families will be treated fairly and justly. He has also been a much-respected voice around the table as we have discussed issues and actions that require us to maintain our commitment to non-violence even as we actively protest what we perceive to be injustices impacting veterans. Although Veterans for Peace cannot endorse a candidate for political office since we are a non-profit organization, I’d like to think that my personal assessment of Seth’s role in Maine citizens’ work to achieve social equality for all is representative of many individual chapter members’ beliefs." |
